Top Wedding Bloggers of Spring 2017 - Part 1

This is the first of a series of posts I’ll be writing here on my blog - Top Wedding Bloggers of Spring 2017. I’ve interviewed several owners of these gorgeous blogs and I’m super excited to share them with you!

The Wedding Community

The Wedding Community is full of wedding inspiration, ideas & tips for your special day. You can even search their wedding directory to find wedding supplies, services & venues. Talk about thorough! (Oh, and making an account is free too.) Their blog has countless inspirational photos, tons of information, contests that are updated weekly and more.

Hop on over to their website here: and also see the full interview below.

Q1. How did you first get into wedding blogging?

A: The Wedding Community launched in 2009 (where did 7.5 years go?!). We had got married two years previously and at that time there were only a few wedding websites (and not really any blogs) so we wanted to offer brides and grooms somewhere to go to indulge themselves in wedding inspiration.

Q2. How would you describe your blogging style?

The Wedding Community offers something for everyone. We are very careful not to have feature just one niche style of wedding. We share weddings of all styles from vintage to boho, traditional to carnival.

Q3. What's your favorite thing about blogging?

We love helping brides and grooms for ideas (to erm, steal!) and also love helping to promote wedding suppliers.

Q4. How do you balance blogging with the rest of your life?

Ha! That's quite a challenge.

The Wedding Community is run by myself, Kim, and my husband David. We have two young girls (18 months and nearly 5) so life is, shall we say, rather busy.

We are very regimented with our working lives though and have set days that each of us work and of course having our own business we never switch off. We are always working really!

Q5. What are some of your favorite wedding boutiques/floral shops/venues?

That's a difficult one as we love everyone that we work with.

If we really had to choose:

Venue - We have worked with St Audries Park, Somerset for a long time and were privileged to attend a friends wedding there a few years ago. Having seen the venue in all it's glory, it probably is one of my favourite wedding venues in the UK.

Florist - I'm totally in love with Fairy Nuff Flowers. Steph actually did our own wedding flowers (10 years ago) so I guess I have a soft spot for her incredible talent.

Wedding Dress Designer - We have long been a fan of BHLDN wedding dresses. Each new collection wows us with the delicate detailing and simple femininity.

Q6. What are your main goals this year?

To continue to inspire couples planning their wedding.

This year is very exciting for us as we are soon to be launching our fabulous new-look this space ;-)

Q7. What inspires you?

Life! Can we say that? Life is for living. It's too short to have hang-ups about the things that don't matter.

Make the most of every day and enjoy what you do.

Q8. What has been your best advertising strategy?

Social media. We LOVE social media!

By sharing ideas to the world, people want to see more.

Q9. If you could give one piece of advice to a bride-to-be, what would it be?

Just chill. Your wedding planning should be fun. Don't let anyone else tell you what you 'should' do (and they will try!)

It's your day and make sure you do it your way!

Q10. What has been your biggest achievement so far?

I was delighted to be asked to be the keynote speaker at a wedding industry event at Eden Project in Cornwall. I spoke about styled shoots; how to organize, how to collaborate and how to get your work featured on blogs and websites.
